I'm not a golfer. I've played twice, both times with right-hand sticks and I'm left-handed. But I do know that there's some mighty fine golf courses in Bali. A round of golf can be pre-booked before you travel and save you a few dollars. The following descriptions are fairly vague and may not have the proper golfing terms, but I hope you get the picture anyway!
Located in Sanur at the Grand Bali Beach, the Denpasar Golf Club is a 9 hole, par 36 golf course. Guests at the hotel receive a discount at the hotel, or often a promotional rate includes a daily round for free. Give me a call to see if this is available at the moment. The course is rather flat but has plenty of tropical trees and plants.
This is the newest course in Bali, set in a dramatic cliff top location overlooking the Indian Ocean. The world championship 18 hole course, designed by Greg Norman has a par of 72. Holes range from par 3 over 164 metres to par 5 at just under 500 metres. Located in Tanah Lot, on the east coast of Bali and is a part of the luxurious Le Meridien Nirwana Resort.
Situated over 1000 metres above sea level in Bedugal, northwest Bali. The international standard course is 18 hole, par 72 measuring 5,882 metres. Being so high up from the sea, the temperatures are a lot cooler and range from 16 - 20 degrees Celsius. The grounds are well established with natural unique features appearing frequently throughout the course including tropical foliage, streams and lakes. The Bali Handara Cottages and Hotelis situated on the grounds and can make a nice getaway for a night or two. Call me for details about the hotel.
Following the contours of Nusa Dua, the Bali Golf and Country Club is located in a beautiful, tropical area with views across to the ocean. The course caters for both 18 hole and 9 hole play, depending on the time you have. The course has a par of 72 with a yardage of 6,427.
